I took my carbs off to clean them after my bike started acting up. I put a tarp over my bike but it must have blown off at some point. It rained and water went right down past my valves into my engine. I tried cranking the bike with the sparkplugs removed but only saw a little bit of water escape. I tried this with a hose attached to a vacuum down the spark plug holes and with my bike totally upside down to little effect. What should I do now?

 

First thing to do is to drop the oil and filter. I would also let the bike sit without spark plugs for a day or two to let it "dry out". New oil and keep checking oil for issues with water in it. Have had a similar issue with a head gasket gone bad and water in oil, can discolor oil to a ash color. Do not run it if water got into engine oil as that can cause problems. Best to get the oil changed out first.

 

Spray some wd40 in the cylinder so you don't rust your cylinder wall. If you really had the bike upside down, then there shouldn't be any water left in there. Get the carbs back on and fire it up so you lubricate the cylinder.

 

I really wanna know how you had your bike upside down???
