First, does anyone know where I can get a nice undented, unscratched gas tank for my cbr that is already painted? Ebay had two but both were dented and scratched and mine would be too if my stupid *** roommate didn't kick it off by accident while it wasn't secured to the bike.

Second, is the black **** immediately to the right of the fuel valve switch to control the idle? If so, why won't mine change the idle when I turn it? The problem is my bike will run with the choke on but as soon as I take the choke off and I let off the throttle, it dies. Any idea? I really appreciate it.

 

I can't help you with a tank. You can always go new and give the $500 bill to your roommate. As for the idle speed adjuster, yes that's what it does. Most likely it has been unscrewed all the way and fellout. Somewhere on the this forum is a photo I took that shows where the screw attaches between the 2nd and 3rd carburetor. It's going to be tough to put back in, but it can be done without removing the carbs from the bike.

 

yes, my guess is the screw fell out. Happened to me, but i had to take my carbs off to clean them anyways. It screws into the bottom, in between the two middle carbs. its gonna be a pain to get it screwed back in.
