Default Tire sizing questions

Hey all, got a 1998 cbr 600 f3

Couple of questions on tire sizing.....

how big can we go without any swing arm mods or chain spacing. I don't mind If I have to raise my rear hugger to accommodate a larger tire ...

is it possible to fit a 190 on there ?

current size is 170/60/17

can a 180/55/17 fit or a 190/50/17 fit on there ?

thanks

-Lee

I take it that you don't care how the bike handles, just how fat of a tire you can put on it, right ?

180 for sure, not sure if 190 can squeeze into the swingarm, anyone?

And yes, btw, your handling capabilities will be severely reduced.

180 is the largest that can fit, but what has already been said is that your handling is going to go to crap.

just as the thread states... I wanted to know who has put a larger tire on the rear and what can fit, nothing was asked about handling issues. this bike is a 1/4 mile bike ... I don't want to loose skin in the twisties..... I just want to go fast in a straight line .. and look good while Im doing it ..... a fatter tire in the rear is one of the reasons I got rid of my f1 hurricane for the f3.

thanks

yes stock swingarm, yes air in the tire. if it makes any difference, the tire is worn down to the point of replacing (this is how i got the bike with the tires on it). I can take a pic if needed

depends on the tire too, some have sidewalls that flare out more than others.
