Arrow Timing question

So the dreaded happened to me the other day.. I was about to pull into my driveway but decided to give it a quick hard twist.. Dunno why really.. As soon as I did it, I head a loud grinding sound like a chain broke or something. I Shut it off right then. After looking under all the side covers I decided I needed to take the engine back out of my 95% complete re-build Before i took it off, I tapped the starter a couple of times(didnt start it) to locate the horrible sound. I just took off the valve cover to see if maybe the timing slipped and is making everything go to hell.. Question is, I'm wondering if the timing is off? My manual doesn't really say anything bout timing..

The green lines are the actual marks..sorry for sucky paint skills lol

It would be great if it was just timing and it didn't screw any valves/cylinders/pistons up..

Thanks in advance!

Ok found out timing is fine..glad to hear that lol. Next question is how do you tell if the CCT has gone bad? Mabe that would explain the grinding chain sound.. Makes sense.. Revved hard and hear chain sound yet timing is ok because the chain is too lose?
