What is the compression across the cylinders?

 

Thanks again for all the help. After reading another thread about hard starting on here, I check my vavle clearances. The exhaust was good, but the intake had NO clearance! Check the shims & it appeared that they may have been switched. (intake/exhaust) After switching them I still had no intake clearance. Im guessing the is a stage one cam in it. The forctory shims do not give proper clearances. I have ordered a shim kit. Hopefuly this solves the problem as I have check everything else but the rings. I'll let you all know.

 

Is it a high mileage motor? Clearances can get tighter on older motors as valves beat into the seat. But it's odd that ALL the intakes are tight.

 

That's what happened to mine when the filter wasn't oiled, so it's not impossible.

 

Ok people. the timing problem is fixed. It wasn't timing at all! After reading someother posts on here about simular problems I check the vavle clearances & compression. Way off. I reshimed & everything is GREAT!. Now the clutch cable broke. uhg! Adyno 2000 was mentioned. i check & I can not find one for my bike. If you know where I can get one please let me know.
