throttle posistion sensor
Ok so i typed this message once, and it said it was too short! aghh i hate that, i get it everytime i post. Anyways.
So i was flipping through the FSM trying to diagnose like a doctor, my 1-3k hesitation problem. (i already cleaned carbs, new plugs, new plug wires, checked every fuse etc, but thats not my question). I discovered that that open plug on the left side frame rail about half way down is a throttle posistion sensor plug. Mine is open with nothing plugged in. I thought it was a diagnostics port like some older cars have in the engine bay that are left open and hanging there. I know it should lead somewhere to the throttle. I have 2 open plugs on the right handle bar that are male/female connectors, not your plug that you squeeze to remove. I assume thats where it attaches? Is one of them a front brake switch, the other my TPS?
Can anyone tell me where this plug hooks up to, or have a picture? Thanks alot. BTW, this is the connector:

That is the Throttle Position connector. The throttle position sensor is located on the left end of the carburetors. It has a wiring harness that routes down and over to that connector on the left side of the bike. (don't pay any attention to the red circle, that was to show someone where the idle screw attaches). It's in the metal bracket on the left side of this photo near my hand.
You can see the connector and the harness going up over the frame towards the sensor.

Doh!
hey guys. thanks for the replies. i appreciate it alot for the help!
upon looking for a connector harness.. i have nothing on the left side of my carbs... i had them off once when i cleaned them, and i shoulda remembered not seeing one doh!
that leads me to believe maybe they're carbs from a different bike? I saw a stamping on each carb, i tried typing this code in in google and tried finding codes for the carbs... but nothing was coming up. tried bike bandit and the FSM.

can anyone shed some light?
this is what my carbs look like from the left side of the bike where the connector is supposed to be located. (pictures are clickable thumbnails)

Here's the serials you should see on your carbs depending on the years. Looks like yours may be off a F2.

idodirt... i cleaned the INSIDE... not the outside!!!! hahaha. outside doesnt affect performance!! thanks for the info dude, i guess i have to figure out where to go from here. i was thinking all day long... what effect will the TPS being unplugged do to the other electrical **** on my bike? like what does the TPS "talk" to on it? is it possible to run without it?
