Are there still endless chains?
I'm researching new chain and sprockets for my CBR600. I've done a search and I know there is lots of info on the topic, but I can't seem to find anything about an "endless" chain. One with no master links. Is there such a thing anymore? The last time I bought a chain and sprocket set (it was awhile ago) I swear the chain came with the correct links and had no master links.
On most bikes there has to be a master link or you wouldn't be able to get it on the sprockets and around the swingarm. Unless you know some trick I've been missing
There are two types of master link: rivet and clip. Rivet is by far the most reliable -- not saying the clips don't work well but if you've ever compared the two you'd understand. The clip types are great if you run the same bike on street and track and make changing sprockets and chain lengths quick. Ya just have to show the clips a bit more respect and make sure they're properly maintained.
There should be truckloads of info on chains here -- heck, I wrote a lot of it
Let me know if you need more info.

yea i got a chain sprocket kit 520 conversion from sumofallparts.com (ebay) for 150 bux it's a clip style and on the xrign chain (best chain i think) they r rated for how many CC's a chain is rated by and such (like a 600cc chain is different than a 900cc cuz a 900cc is putting more stress on the rated 600cc chain than a 600cc chain)
Thanks for your input guys. That is a good point chainstretcher about getting it on the bike with no masterlink. I must of been thinking of the riveted style. I'll start doing searchs in this forum and see what I came up with....
Just also wanted to say thanks chainstretcher (and others who have helped me in the past) for even taking the time to write a few sentences about something
you obviously know a lot about and probably even answered the same question multiple times in the past.
