Default tailight resistors?

ive been seeing on ebay that all of the intergrated tailight lights with signals bring resisitors to give more current.

do any of you know what kind of resistors they are? because my after market tail does have them installed

resistors wouldn't draw more current, they would limit it.

resisters are needed when doing an LED turn signal conversion to normalize the speed of the flashing. When changing to LEDs, without resisters they will flash at about double speed. doing a google search for flash controllers/resisters will give good results.

The resistor basically simulates the load of the previous, incandesent bulbs.

The relay uses a bi-metalic strip, that heats up, bends due to the different expansion
rates of the two dis-similar metals laminated together-breaks the circuit-cools and
bends back-completing the circuit again. With out the resistance of the bulb,
more current is available to heat the bi-metalic and it cycles faster.
Thus, the need to add the resister to the circuit.

Hope this helps, Ern

+1 to what Ern said, that pretty well sums it up.

I have LEDs on all four of my signals. Honestly, I didn't put the resistors in on purpose. Almost everyone I talk to about it, asks why bikes turn signals signal so fast. They also say that the signals they notice more are the ones that flash faster like that.

Other than the faster clicking and on the dash, I don't think it has any negative effects? This wouldn't burn out the signal mechanism faster would it?

No it doesn't have any negative effects on the system. A lot of people feel that it attracts cops more though.
