Default tail cowl

ive been looking at the targa solo seat cowls for awhile now, but i really dont want to spend $150+ on a piece of fiberglass, so i broke out my 3d modeling software and inputted all the dimensions of the bike and came up with a design for a tail/seat cowl that gives a bit of cargo space, im still straightening out the edges in the design tryin to make it look good on the bike, so right now im in the process of getting all my materials around to start this little project of mine, im either goin with abs plastic sheets which i can get at a good price, a buddy of mine owns his own car audio store and gets it in bulk, or im gonna go with what im used to good ole fiberglass, i'll start posting pics of the process when i start, and any input helps in the least, once i finish it i may end up making a casting of it just in case.

I got mine from pyramid plastics, cant remember how much it was though.
A few guys have made there own solo seat cowls on here so do a quick search if you are looking for tips.
Lookforward to seeing the results, i like to see people making a effort to make, alter and fab parts rather than just bolt aftermarket **** on

yup i know what you mean, i did a custom trim on my old 91 camaro i used to own, took me my entire senior year to finish them, but when i got them done i got nothin but compliments, but ive always had a nack for doin everything myself, and makin it the way i see fit, funny thing is my old automotive teacher used to tell me, is that if your going to do just do it once and do it right idiot, he was an old hot rodder from back in the day, i learned stupid, but easy ways of makin pieces and parts from scratch, and with the simplest of materials to start with... but the old man was right you get a nack for it, and you'll never get rid of it

a cop pulled me over... and well, my tail is superhollowed out and he told me to "fix" it, since my tag is zip tied currently with no tag light.

the tail itself looks the same, cept im modifying an r6 fender/tag mount on
gonna look like this (the tag mount)
