I'm getting a swing arm powdercoated and having trouble getting the needle bearing out. The manual says to use 07LMC-KV30200 and the shaft 07949-MJ00100 tools to get the bearing out however I cannot find a listing for these tools. Since there is a bottleneck causing the tube to be flush with the needle bearing I cannot use a screwdriver to knock it out like the rest of the bearings.
I took it to a shop who wanted to know the maximum time to allow: AKA I'm a terrible mechanic and will probably waste your money. In half an hour they managed to destroy the bearing beyond re-use.

Has anybody successfully gotten this off with or without a press? If so how did you do it?

( they made me buy the tool but when i returned it they retuned my money) About 10 years ago i went to 4 different local shops trying to get the bearings out of some swingarm linkage One tried to use a air hammer and beat it out ( really) they didnt have a blind bearing remover and I just told them to stop once I found out what they were doing. The next shop didnt have the tool or any good ideas. The next shop had a cheap Chinese universal set the didnt even have the right size collet. And the final shop I went to actually had the tool but used it wrong and and broke the outside lip of the needle bearing cage off and refused to go any farther. I ended up using a dremmel and getting the metal so thin in the cage that it broke and slipped out. And any time you remove bearings like this even with the proper tools you need to replace the bearings. Removal can damage the cage the needles ride in.

I drove 30 miles to have this done (mostly because a friend works in parts, but regardless) and we'll see what tools they used. I'm expecting the arm to be destroyed at which point I'll be raising even more hell to get the thing replaced.

I could theoretically pick one of those up from harbor freight for the same price this shop wants me to pay.

 

Google Tusk Bearing Puller and it will show a picture similiar to what Cr250 said earlier, buy that and rocky mountain atv has a youtube video on proper use.
Common sense really.

 

Who cares about the bearing, just get it out? For about $11 you can buy a new bearing to put in. The 2 that are on the right side, the 6003's are common and you can get them at most bearing supply shops for a few $ each.

 

Any bearings you remove from the cbr f3 you have to replace with new except for the steering bearings as said from the honda service manual itself.
The problem isnt re-using the bearing, (at least I hope so) its removing it in a manner to not score the bearing seat.
