Some clarity here may help. The 95 and 96 F3's came with 530 chains from Honda, the 97 and 98's came with a 525 chain stock. Your link was a question about a 97, so the 525 size is correct for that bike. If you have stock sprockets, then you're good to go.

"For the win." FTW. Meaning you clarified the rest of the story. I wasn't aware that they changed from model year to model year - apparently neither did the other guy.

I wasn't sure they did either. I also think that I was the one that said for him to go with the 525, and was now afraid that I made a mistake. Time to do some research and make sure I wasn't crazy. I knew I had installed a 525. Oh well, everything is good. I'll have to remember that FTW. I was actually thinking it was a misstype of WTF.

Regards...

So now that U guys have fought it out, this is my conclusion: My bike uses as stock a 530 chain with 15/43 sprockets I need to replace the chain and since the sprockets already have like 30k miles on them it's probably a good idea to replace them as well, not to damage the new chain.
Apparently I can use 520,525 or 530 chain. Since I'm a bit tight on money the deciding factor will be the cheapest option with a decant o-ring chain and sprockets.
