put it in 2nd , rev up , pop clutch. Done.
You're likely to put yourself on your *** trying wheelies for the first time in 1st gear.

Never was into the wheelie thing

If u have a F3 putting it in second and popping the clutch will not even lift the tire off the ground (at least if the gearing is stock). First gear and chop the throttle. Your seating position does help out but I can sit on the tank if I really wanted to and chop the throttle and it will still come up. It just takes practice. Wheelies are more addictive than drugs. Once you shift into 2nd that first time there will be no turning back. I try and stay away from them now. Even though they are sweet!!!!!!!!

If you can practice on a dirt bike, I'd suggest doing that. Racing MX for 5 years really helped me learn the best way to pull wheelies on any street bike. i was ridin them on my first day with my f3. might as well get all the crazyness out of me now before i get hurt, again.

Hey man, After being a suzuki rider for years i bought a 97 F3 and i have to say wheelies are easier. This bike makes more midrange power than my same model year gsxr600. just start small using throttle only. whack the throttle open at 1000 rpm incriments till the front wheel starts coming up. mine power wheelies if i open it up hard at about 10-11k rpm. Sometimes less. thats only with exhaust and k&n filter done. As long as your clutch is fairly fresh you should have the same results. Once you get good at that follow the above guys advice for mastering the clutch method. Not sure about the other guys f3 but mine does come up in second most of the time, but you have to be way up in the revs....good luck but be careful....I too have seen too many guys with an utter lack of throttle control make the smallest error and end up tossing thier nice bikes down the asphalt.. Later.

Second gear isnt going to do any wheelies for you. Like someone else said but dont be clutching it up in first. Your bike is strong enough to power it up.

Get going down the road like you are going to race and roll on the throttle hard. Most of the time you will feel it pull really hard around 8-9000 rpm. That is the spot that you need to get to when starting your wheelies.

Get up to about 8 grand and then let out on the throttle and crank it back.
(Letting out the throttle and hitting it again will give the front shocks a little jump to get some weight off the front wheel)

Then when it comes up you need to roll off the throttle A LITTLE BIT. Dont just drop the throttle.
(Rolling off a little, when you get it up there, will make sure that you dont flip yourself on your ***.

Practice after that.
