sputtering ???

so i took the bike apart again today and cleaned the carburators still nothing better any others have any ideas

ok thanks for the help i did alot of stuuf and now it is fixed. Turned out that when i cleaned the air filter i used too much oil and it clogged it restricting air flow and causing the engine to sputter because it was flooding

Mine did the same thing, you hit about 3500 and it acts like its running out of gas, pull in the clutch it will tach up to redline just fine, same with neutral. Changed the fuel pump which was shot, the relay for the pump, but the culprit turned out to be the CDI, runs great now.

When you say hitting the power band, you don't mean rapping up to near the red zone.
Just a thought, cos then it could just be the rev limiter.
