Sputtering beyond 7k RPM
Hey guys, my buddy owns a 94 900rr, just recently we installed spark plugs and the bike ran like a beast. A few days later he tried to start it but nothing, no dash lights just dead as if there wasnt a battery connected. That problem ended up being a bad connector within the ignition switch wiring. So now it fires up great and idles good, but in neutral it sputters if we throttle above 7 grand and if you ride it does the same thing. I got it up to 90mph but slowly and only because i stayed below the 7 grand mark. Any help or suggestions would greatly be appreciated. I forgot to mention, Im the proud owner of a low mileage 99 900rr, whoohooo go 900's
check the plug wires, when changing plugs out , the wire in the boot on one could have worked out of the clamp inside, and through arcing could still run reasonable at a low RPM but not keep up at high revs. Just a thought.
Thanks BAMBAM, I'm on it this evening if the weather permits, I'll let ya know what I find out.
