speedometer problem

Default speedometer problem

hey eveyone i was just curious if anyone else has had a problem with their speedometer being off. i always hear ppl say that speedometers are usually off by about 5-10 mph but i wanted to see if anyone here has that problem too.. mine is about 7-10 mph off. and if so does anyone know of a good way to fix it ? thanks in advance

Yea mine is about 10 off had a car drive with me to check this out also my buddy zx9r is off by ten also.

Yeah mine is out about the same, I always notice this when I slow down for a speed camera or stick to the speed limit. Get passed a lot.
My friends old CX500 is worse though, it's the opposite, when he thought he was doing the speed limit, he was about 15 kph faster.
Either way the cops never take this as an excuse.

^ thats the reason i was wondering if this probem could be fixed.. i know generally cops give you a "coushin" of about 5-6 mph over but i dont wanna push my luck. it always feels like other cars are riding my *** and sometimes i know they are and just been ****** but other time i notice hey am im holding up traffic?

Get a GPS sat nav strapped to the bike you'll get your true ground speed

^ thanks for that link.. i had always thought those were for newer bikes with the digital gauges, but now that i read it i now see that it does have an application for mine as well thanks again
