OK my f3 wouldn't start.... brought it into a local bike repair shop, they said it needs a new fuel pump the current one is dead.... but i read else where is should still start and idle with a non working fuel pump its only needed for higher speeds... is this true? it cranks over but just keeps cranking, throttle, choke nothing makes a difference... i dont know what to do.

There might not be any fuel getting through the pump at all. Try bypassing the pump by running the fuel line from the tank directly to the carbs. Not that this a really good fix but it will definitely let you know if the pump is bad.
