Default Shinko tires

So I need a new front tire. I'm looking for something cheap and am debating between these two:

and

I don't know if there is really much difference, I'm leaning toward the Advance Radial, just thought I'd see if anyone here had any experience with these tires and if they are decent or not. Since they're cheap enough I'll probably pick up the rear, too. Thanks!

Hello five minute reply. I like the Raven, party because of the name... I also like that the Advance says excellent braking and cornering. I'm hoping to order something by the end of the week or so, I might just have to flip a coin...

Shinko bought Yokohama's motorcycle tire business, so they're not quite the no-name company a lot of people think they are. Most of the people who have Shinkos like them.

I have a set of 006s waiting to go on after I get my wheels repainted, a full set was about the same price as just the rear tire of any other brand.

At the Chaparral whatever-it-is the front is like 65.85 and the rear is like 85 something. I'm thinking for that cheap I'll get them both and I think if I order them both then it's free shipping. I figure if I can get two for around 160 then I'm doing good.

sounds like a decent deal, make sure you can find a decent place to put the wheel on for you and who will balance it as well.

I have the 005 Advance. I got them mid summer last year. Haven't had anything to complain about. But I also haven't really put them to task. Haven't felt any sliding and they seem to grip well. The tread on the 005s are funny. Though i haven't taken them into the wet, seems like the pattern would work well for forcing water away from the contact patch.

For day to day riding, most people seem satisfied. People crap on Shinkos due to price. Those who burn the tread of their tires keep forgetting the saying "You get what you pay for".
