Default Shinko anyone?

I bought a set from Motorcycle Super Store about 2.5 weeks ago and so far so good. I've managed just over 1300 miles and little to no tread wear to speak of. I paid just over $160 for both. Anyone else having good luck with these tires? I'm sold on them. By the way, about 200 miles of the 1300 was in rain and they handled great.

Just before heading off to Indy for the MotoGP races at the end of Aug, I put a set of Shinko Podium's on our F3's. It was mostly a cost thing. I needed 2 sets of tires. We put 3800 miles on them in 2 weeks of riding from S. Florida, up to Indy and back. I'm quite pleased with them.

It's amazing how good those photographers at Deals Gap can make you look. I'm certainly no knee dragger, but I did enjoy myself and.... I didn't get bit.

Great pic !!
Shinko's are apparently good in the wet too Bill....................
Tyre life may be a problem, from what I'm told................
By the way, Chainstretcher has a set up for sale - brand new, still in the wrappings !

Oh yeahhh...I used to have Shinkos on mine for two years before my front tire lost traction after hard breaking on the track and I ended up in massive high speed low side.
My buddy told me it was totally my fault and I agreed. Then he lowsided my bike (right after i finished restoring it) on the parking lot where we were practicing our knee dragging. LOL. After that he said I should chnaged the tires and I did...to Bridgestones.
Conclusion: pretty good tires for price but be careful and gentle if you like speed and tight turns. Not the best choice for track. IMHO. Ride safe!

They are great tires for the price. But you will not get the miles out of them that other tires offer. I have owned a few sets and never had a problem besides the tread life.

I like the 005s I have. They're still newish (less than a month and a half) and I haven't been able to put them to task (bike problems). So far, aside from road grit, they look brand new. And I can corner pretty well on them.

Even on the (hopefully) rare occasion when I'm still leaned down and cross a trolley track like today

used the 005's for one season on my f2...took too long to warm up...would spin when trying to clutch up a wheelie in 1st(which my dunlops and pirellis NEVER did)and on hard downshifts would get squirrelie in the rear end. i'll say they weren't horrible but on a bike...you only have two tires...spend the extra money for better tires
