Exclamation Safe for carb cleaner?

Ok, got the carbs off. Pilot jets on #2, #3 and #4 clogged. Tiny holes on all needle jets partially clogged as well. All the jets are soaking in carb cleaner for the night. But here's the question: What is safe for carb cleaner?

Is it safe to shoot carb cleaner through there? Right now I have the diaphragms still in the carbs. Also have a few hoses still attached. Or should I remove the hoses and diaphragms first? Or not worry about them and focus on the jets?

If I were to say SeaFoam one more time ..........people round here will razz my ***
bad ........but truthfully it's what I use .........highly recommend the stuff.....just
focus on cleaning the jets.......then put her back together and put half a can in
the gas tank and drive the chit out of it........but whats the clogging look like ......
any solids ? or just oxidization and green old gas residue and moisture chit etc ??

What's the condition of the Tank ?? Ya might want to consider an inline filter

Can't really tell what the clogging is like. Just that when held up to the light I couldn't see light through some of the holes. Little history: the previous owner let er sit for 1 1/2+ years without any fuel stabilizer and the old plugs were hopelessly fouled after a few starts.

I already have a half can of Seafoam waiting for tomorrow. I just want to clean everywhere I can while I got the carbs off. Gonna get some canned compressed air tomorrow since I'm worried using my compressor would might damage something.

NO, it is not safe. There are rubber O-rings in there that will get eaten up. You can get away with shooting some seafoam through them with a baby medicine syringe (syringe, not dropper). Drug stores sell them, and I have one in all my tool kits for weird stuff like this (I used to repair $15,000 inkjet printers and plotters). After that, blow all the hoses and jets and needles out with medium-PSI compressed air (safety glasses!!).

Your main concern is those jets you pulled. after soaking, spray through each little hole on the sides and make sure it comes out the other. Then blast some compressed air through all of them and down the core. That's should take care of your problem. Any carb cleaner or seafoam residue that remains will burn off quickly.

Yamaha makes an excellent carb cleaner.Mix it with water, let it soak overnight, safe for o-rings.Re-install carbs, holla back.
