Default Rich rich rich

Hi

I've got a 97 f3 which I've never been able to get the fueling right on. I run an AFR gauge and it idles fine (high 13s), low to mid speed cruises fine (12s and 13s) but as soon as you give more than say half throttle, goes 10:1 right up to red line. I've had the carbs off more times than I care to remember - float heights all good, air hoses all intact, slide diaphragms work as they should. It's got what appears to be dynojet needles and dynojet 126 mains (equivalent of standard keihin 135). Needle jets have no wear to speak of as do the needles. I have bought from ebay some stock needles as I was going to try putting these in but on measuring them they're actually richer than the dynojets so not sure now.

It's got an end can and k and n panel filter. Other than that it's stock as far as I know.

i just don't understand how it's so rich. Is this a common problem? Any tips welcome.

Thanks

Dan

Hey Dan! So I guess I have a couple tips for you. First off it could be your fuel pump cut off relay. It sounds like everything is great with your carbs. How is your MPG? Does the bike stutter when riding? Does your exhaust smoke when you rev it? Also. Sea foam never ever hurts

Hi thanks for your reply. I actually got it sorted by replacing the float needles. Afr is now pretty good throughout thanks
