Reverse Clutch
I was wondering if anyone knew how to reverse the clutch meaning instead of 1st being down it would be up and the rest of the gears would be down.... I drove a gxsr 750 my cousin bought it like that and i like it alot. SO i wanted to know if anyone knew how to do it and can they show me step by step how to do it thanks.....---MArIo

RE: Reverse Clutch
First of all, that's called reverse pattern shifting... NOT reverse clutch, reverse clutch would be like when you pull the clutch lever in, it's engaged and when you let it out it's disengaged.
Anyways, he had aftermarket rearsets that enable you to use the GP stylereverse pattern shifting, it's basically an extra pivot in the linkage. You have to buy these, although I'm not sure but newer gixxers might have them stock.
To do it on an F3 you will need aftermarket rearsets. (looking at anywhere fromabout $200-$600)

RE: Reverse Clutch
You're smoking rocks, Hershey. Both my F3 and my F4 have the GP style shift pattern(reverse).
The F3 was as simple as flipping the linkage. The F4 was a little more work because I had to cut the front sprocket cover with a Dremel. Took my time and made it look pro.
The F4i's are swappable as well. All with only a 12mm and 10mm wrench.

RE: Reverse Clutch
BTW, the science behind it is simple.
The standard pattern works by pressing down, or up on the lever which pulls the linkage in a clockwise and counterclockwise direction, respectively.
When you reverse it, now when you press down, it moves the linkage in a counterclockwise direction, and clockwise for the upshifts. Eseentially reversing everything. 1 up, 5 down.
