Default Replacement grips?

Hey all,
I tend to grip my handles a bit far out, and the ridge on the outside end of the grips causes great pain in my palms. I want to replace them, but I'm not sure how to go about doing so. Most of what I see on ebay is of course for current model CBRs, 600RRs etc. Will any of these fit? If anyone else has replaced grips, what brands\shapes do you recommend? The most important thing for me is getting grips that don't have those stupid ridges on the outside edge.

I've got the Driven D3's. They are pricey, but real comfy and best looking
on the market, IMO. Here's a link to see mine mounted...

That bad huh? I was thinking about doing the same, those D3s look nice, but quite expensive.

Most grips are the same sizes anymore. The softer the grip equals more frontend feedback but don't last as long.

Grips are really easy to install. As cgmiller already said, most of the grips are the same size, at least for road bikes. (with the exeption that you need to take notice assemblywise, that the grips left and right are different size to fit around the throttle tube) Nothing stops you from cutting the ridge off. I did it to my grips cause it was rubbing the handle weight of the throttle. The easiest way to get the old ones off is compressed air. If you have a compressor at hand, take the air gun, wiggle the tip under the grip, blast away and watch it fly. or just take a boxcutter knife and slice them in half. Air can also be used when mounting the new ones, but with some caution. I managed to actually pop one years ago when I accidentally pushed the airguns trigger all the way down. The grip bubbled up and popped. Another way is to buy some grip glue, lube up the bars with that and just slide the new tubes on with the glue.

For example here is some pretty good, cheap option. Dual density= good grip and soft stuff on the inside to get better feel. As a brand I like Pro Grip. U prolly can get new grips from any motorcycle parts store for 10-20 bucks.

Just push the grip into place, shoot air from that little hole in the end, slide it all the way on and cut the ridge off before re-mounting the handelweights. If U don`like the little gap that`s left on the end of the grip, just don`t push it all the way in and move the lever mounts out to close the gap.

EDIT: just noticed, I got those 719 RVGS:s that u can see in that link site. black/grey. Good grip when riding with gloves, but a little gooy barehand. Good thing I don`t ride barehand...
