Default Repaint or Replace stock fairings?

I have been seriously considering repainting my F3 over the winter. Thinking about all black. It's currently yellow (see pic below) & nearly impossible to find the replacement upper left fairing I need (matching that is). Just found one so now wondering if I should repaint or just keep it as is and replace the fairing? Also was planning on adding a rear seat cowl cover so I could just get one from Targa that matches the stock yellow configuration or get one in black. Any thoughts?

I say go for it with the new paint. It's nice to see an F3 out there that doesnt look like all the other ones. I have a hand mixed cadillac red with pearl and metalflakes in it. It looks soo damn good in direct sunlight. Just watch out for scratches on or near the tank cause they'll show up like a biatch on tha black. Just my .02....

Are you planning on painting this yourself? If so, base/clear? Spray paint? I just did this with my track bike, I could possibly give you some tips

Having someone paint it for me. Gloss black base with stock carbon fiber decals (basic Honda & F3) and clear on top....

I've decided to repaint. Already have a replacement upper fairing & just got a new seat & sweet solo tail (I LOVE eBay! ). Installed frame sliders last weekend. My friend works for a plastic company & has a guy there that just painted his R6 & it looks wicked. He said he'd paint mine for $400 materials & labor, a pretty good deal for a professional grade job. My old roomie had his F4i repainted last year at a body shop & was charged $800. I think that's reasonable considering prep time, all the different fairings & knowledge of how much flex additives, etc. you need to ensure a durable job.

My next question is, go black w/ the carbon graphics, or silver w/ carbon (or black) graphics. Remember, I was only planning on adding basic HONDA, F3 & the small tank Honda wing graphics.

IM going with a simular color not black but actually really dark gray and carbon look graphics.....Im glad you went with the paint job even if you got the same color fairings they wouldnt match because the paint fades and no paint job will fade the same for instance if you live out west say in Arizona and bought fairings for out east on a bike that was garaged they would be two totaly different colors......thats a great deal on the paint job the paint and clear is costing me 250 and im painting myself its my first paint job but my father used to own a body shop so I know how too and I have all the stuff to do it but just never painted yet..I'll post pics when she's done
