Rear Shock
ok so after today sitting on my friends bike, i never realized how low my f3 sat and how much more comfortable other cbr's are that are taller. so i need to raise my bike. One told me to get a 929 rear shock while some1 else told me to get an f4i shock. which one is taller and that will fit because i am 6'3 and i would like to sit higher
6' 3"... you're one tall guy. There is a thread on here where a guy used a F4i on and F3. It required the kick stand to be modified. Other than that, it was a bolt in mod for the most part. OH!! He also had to figure a way to mount the remote reservoir. I think he ended up zip tied the thing to the left side of the chassis. I searched for it, but wasn't able to get a positive hit. I just can't recall the posters name.
YEA, I see alot of f4i shocks but i hear 929 shocks are taller and which ever helps me sit higher... F4i is just an inch taller but i hear the 929 is almost inch and a half taller
Get an F4/F4i shock. its about 2" taller and i loved it (have a proper Ohlins race shock now).
I ziptied the reservoir to the left side of the frame right next to the fuel pump.
You'll have to make a bracket for the side stand to extend it as with the F4 shock it will not reach the ground at the right angle and might fall on you.
There is one more problem - the chain will be robbing off the top side of the swing arm a lot more as the swig arm id gonna be at a greater angle but fitting a bigger front sprocket helps (you can compensate gear ratio with a bigger rear sprocket if you want).
Otherwise it works well and the bike turns in a lot faster into corners
