Default Really dumb question. But in need of answer.

On the left side of my 96 f3 there is a switch right below the gas tank. I belive it is a fuel shut off switch. But to tell the truth I dont know what it is and dont want to touch it. If anybody can tell me what it is and when I should use it that would be fantastic.

Thanks,

Brian

If your talking about the circular switch right below the gas tank, yes you are right it is the fuel selector. Down, is normal, straight forward is off, and up is reserve.

RTFM....

its the petcock which controls the flow of gas to the carbs. its either on, off or reserve. reserve is used when you run out of gas when it is on the "on" position. since we do not have gas guages, we have to have an oh **** button in the event we start to run out of gas. just make sure to ride the bike in the on position, and not the reserve. or else when you run out of gas on reserve thats it, you are pushing it to the nearest gas station. hope that helps.

down = ON middle = OFF up = RES
