Yeah I agree with everyone it going to look fantastic especially as a fighter but i am just unsure of how it look with a full faired bike i.e F3 front fairing I don't know if i could take my eyes away from the gap to the tank etc?

First off, thanks for all the compliments... The tail does sit about 2 inches higher now that the undertail is in, and I'm liking the way it looks more and more as I get closer to being done. I was going to ask if you guys thought some plates to border the tank to tail section gap would be a good idea, but I think I answered my own question there. So in the next few days here I should have those mocked up too. I will get some more pics for you guys on the progress thus far, hopefully in the morning.

Oh and dsnow, its off of a 2001 R1 tail... it is a super easy mod, if you have a few hours and some tools it is a real breeze to install. I would be more than happy to walk you through it step by step when you are ready to do it.

Obviously it looks like the bike is lowered in the triples about an inch and a half, but is it also lowered in the rear? I dunno... that tail looks really gaudy and out-of-place to me and I'm not talking about the colors...maybe it looks better raised up a couple inches like you said you did..

Very cool that it fits the frame so well...it just looks too long to me for some reason

It is lowered in the triples 2" and has a 2" lowering link in the rear. I'm raising it up in the rear (back to stock) and then I will decide what to do about the front.

My GSXR-750 was lifted 2" in the rear and lowered 1" in the front, that was a cool ride...

I figured as much. I think the R1 tail would look much more natural with the bike at the stock height. As of now, it kinda looks like it's trying to eat your rear tire. lol

True, and most of the length is just the angle of the pic, it is about an inch or so longer than the stock tail, but it looks proportionate on there. And once it is back to stock, it should look even better..
