i have a 1996 cbr 600 smoking joe bike and i just started to work on it. i read in a post on here that someone had only one rotor on the front of their bike, does that work or what because mine only has one on it and i dont know why someone would do that except to see more of the front wheel? also my bike was sitting up in storage for many years before i got it and the gas was bad i cleaned out the tank and freed up the carbs and got them working now but can u clean out the fuel pump? i also read that you can use a 4-5 pound fuel pump from advanced auto parts is that ok and does it work for a good long time seems like there is alot of fuel problems with these bike any answers will help thanks.

 

Errr rotor? As in brake disc?? Im pretty sure you'll want two of those mate...

About the fuel, make sure you check the gastank on the inside, if the sides of the tank have been left uncovered, they are susceptible to rust.

And the pump... i never tried opening one up, but i guess you could try doing that.

Im thinking that since the bike hasnt been running for a few years, you might wanna check your o-rings and gaskets, if they dry out youre going to have problems...
