Pre lubing a used replacement engine
Getting ready to install a used replacement motor. Replacement engine has not been run in over 5 years. Short of replacing crankcase oil with new, NEED ADVICE on how I can properly introduce oil into the cylinders (and other locations) before first start to prevent dry start damage. Thanking all in advance!

Well, I know how they do it with a small block chevy...a drill connected to the distributor..
I would think the best thing to do is remove the plugs and cylce the engine with the starter motor for 10-15 seconds, with oil in the pan of course.. But first I would make sure the engine turns by hand, without the plugs in it.
