Default Power Commander

So I'm planning on buying a '98 F3 in the next day or two. My friends with bikes tell me a great way to increase power is with an aftermarket exhaust and a power commander. The bike already hasa carbon fiberaftermarket exhaust so I've been looking at power commanders. From what I gather they're only for fuel injected motors so it obviously wouldn't work on an F3. Is this correct, or can power commanders be used on carbeurated bikes? If not, what are some good options for getting a little more juice out ofcarbeurated bikes? If you can, please give a short explanation of what it does to createthe extrapower. The more help anyone can offer the better. Thanks.

PCIII's won't work without FI, just get a jet kit. All either one does is just change how much fuel goes in the engine.

carbs need jet kits. They basically allow the carb to flow more fuel. Get the bike and ride it first before you start dumping money for power into it. You may be suprised at what an F3 can do.

Plus who knows, the guy before you might have already upgraded it a little. Find out all the mods he's done, if any.

Thanks everyone for the help.

I'm a new rider so I won't be doing any upgrades right away, butI'd like to down the road. From what I've read, these bikes have more ***** than I realized! MaybeI won't even need to updgrade. Again though, thanks for the insight.
