Potential f3 owner...
#11
Well, she's home. I picked her up this evening. I checked the VIN for the 253 (thanx, scorpion) and she's authentic. Now that I have had some alone time to get personal with it, here are my findings. A quick jaunt down the road tells me the carbs are in great need of cleaning. She feels sputter-y. Take-off felt iffy, so I took a peek at the low speed intakes. Mud daubers had built a nest in both of them. I'll need to yank the tubes and clean them. Makes me wonder what lives in the ram port. The cover in front of the headers was missing a bolt and had laid across the headers for quite some time. It was trash. While not important, the controls could be replaced or rejuvenated. I can feel the age in the buttons. It was late and dark when I got it here, so hopefully I'll have time tomorrow to check it out a little more thoroughly.
