Potential F2 owner
Hey everyone.
I'm brand new to the CBR forums and I really like this place so far.
I'm talking to a guy on Craigslist about a 1991 F2. Here's the Craigslist link if anyone wants to see it.

I've got him talked down a little from the $2500 price he was at, but he seems reluctant to go down much more than a few hundred dollars. The bike has 15,000 miles on it.
I'm just wondering what everyone thinks about this deal. It would be my first bike and I was hoping to get something newer, but if I can get a good deal on this one I would be willing to go with it. I've taken the MSF course and have gear already.
Thanks for all the advice anyone can offer!

F2's are around $2500-$3000 Canadian up here.. There is a MINT 1991 White with Red stripes for sale in my town here.. $2900 Canadian. 1 owner, never dropped. Ever. Mint. But it has 60 000km on it! I guess there is a downside to everything. I sold my F2 @ 52 000km and it was still running strong.
So you guys don't think that $2500 is unreasonable? The guy has had it listed on Craigslist for close to 6 months now, so he's obviously had trouble selling it. I haven't gone to see it yet, but I wanted to get an idea of what to pay before I went to check it out. That's not a whole lot of miles, but it is an 18 year old bike, I feel like paying $2500 is too much.
I did. I offered him $1500 and he said no. I'm gonna stay firm on that though because I don't need the bike and he seems desperate to get it off his hands quick. I just wanted to know what everyone though about this, I don't want to rip the guy off, I just want the best deal I can get on a bike and I don't feel like I'm being unreasonable.
I agree completely. I know I'd have to do a little work on it to get it to where I want it cosmetically, that's part of the reason I'm trying to get him down to $1500. However, he says the bike is in good shape and from all the pictures I've seen, he's correct. I want to do a HID conversion and LEDs in the rear and maybe flush mount signals in the front too. I just think if I can get him to $1500 it's a good place to start for a first bike and a bike I can put some time and a little more money in to.
