Pilot Screw Tool - San Diego
So I have a junked 95 f3 that I've been fixing up, but I can't get rid of some serious backfiring when at idle. I think it must be the idle mixture at this point, after ruling out the valves and spark.
Does anybody in SoCal have a idle mix/pilot screw tool that I can borrow? I don't want to buy a whole tool just to use it one time, seems like a waste of metal. I'd pay for shipping too actually if someone else wants to help out.
Already fully cleaned the carbs replaced the plugs, checked the spark, checked the valve clearence, checked compression etc. The bike is fine from 2k up to redline, but at 1500 or lower consistently pops loudly through the exhaust. Cold, warm, choke, no choke, doesn't matter. If I pull the one and three plugs the issue goes away almost entirely. If anyone else has any ideas let me know. Thanks.

So I just put the battery and charging system in and took it out. While sitting it revs up fine, but it's got absolutely no power under 8k. I have to get it up to about 3500 before it can even move it's weight from a stop. It drags *** until it hits 8k then it takes off.
Do you guys think the idle mix alone could make that much of a difference? I'll look into the carbs to see if there's another circuit that may not be working. I don't think it could be ignition timing because it works great when it's revved up.
