Default Picked up my first bike...

I picked up my first bike yesterday and I'm pretty stoked. It's a 96 F3 with 20K miles. The only mod is a two brothers pipe. I'm very well-versed in cars, so I'm not a mechanical newbie. That being said, I know only what I've read with bikes. My plan for the bike this winter is:

- GSXR R/R swap
- strip it down to nothing and paint/powder coat the frame black (flat or satin)
- swap the tail with an R1 tail
- swap the front fairings with F4i fairings
- change the clutch (not necessarily needed, but doing it for the riding season)
- paint the plastics pearl white
- change out the cam chain tensioner

Am I missing any of the no-brainer issues?

20k you may want to rebuild the forks. Hard telling if its ever been done.

These are good reminders. I was planning on a basic tuneup before riding season. I didn't think about the front forks. Thanks.

I'll be taking the rest of the bike apart this weekend in prep for paint and a new body.

I've got a GSXR R/R on its way. I'm beginning to build the parts bin up to get her ready for riding over the next two months. Slowly but surely.

I'll throw up some pics this weekend. I should have all of the plastics off tomorrow. Then I begin on the frame.

Let us know how this goes. I was thinkin about doing this with my F3 whilest i'm rebuilding it (RR front end with stock Tail, same colors lol).

Fork's arent hard to rebuild, took me about 3hrs. total; with the second fork taking half as much time as the first. Just get the proper sized PVC pipe for a make shift press for the bushings.

I would also suggest either bleeding or swaping in SS brake lines.
