Default petcock thread size?

does anybody know the size of the bit the petcock screws onto?

i have planned for awhile now to ditch the petcock and just run a straight line from tank too carbs with an inline on/off switch but getting the bits and sizes is proving awkward.

race bike so always ran in reserve position anyway just want to do away with it is all.

What size do you need, made of what material? It might be something I can help source for you via work...

Also, sorry to thread jack, but I did get your pm, that's fine for the tank.

no problem on the thread jack i do it all the time by accident...

erm all the pipes are 8mm which i think is 5/16 but i think im going to go with braided hose instead of going with the proper aluminium anodised screw on connectors as it ended up pricing at over £100 and as much as i dont like push on pipes on a race bike its not worth £100, I'll eat those words if it comes off whilst im leading a race

and i still dont know what size thread i need to remove the petcock and replace with a female to barb adapter

thanks man i'll pm my mobile number and try and find out when is good for you to come pickup then arrange it with my old man as i don't drive tin cans
