well, I just bought a 95 that also had no markings. I was told that up is RES, forward is OFF, and down is ON (main)

This helped me a ton! I had no idea I have been riding 100% of the time in reserve.

Dont drive on reserve all the time if the tank has gunk at the bottom it can get sucked into the carbs easier

That is true that is why I took off my carbs last week and found a bunch of stuff. It also clogged my fuel filter obviously.

After cleaning my carbs thoroughly an replacing the fuel filter, I'm in the process of acid washing my tank.

My tanks inside liner is just hanging off the metal and falling apart getting every clogged up.

If someone could help...I have a Honda 97 cbr 600 and my petcock isn’t labeled...but the only options are forward (west),
down (south), or Backwards (east).
And I was previously told that left is reserve, down is off and back is regular tank.

Appreciate the help.
