idodirt, i agree with you. same reason im not gonna straight wire my fan. the bike is setup to run it at a certain temp. do you think you are a better judge than a thermostat? highly doubtful. if i fix something on my bike, it will be done the right way. thanks for everyones help! wish me luck today. maybe in the next week or so once i get my bike all buttoned up ill post some pics. so excited!

I had the same problem. I grounded the fan, it worked. Replaced most of the other parts in my cooling system but the problem persisted. I eventually came to the conclusion that my cooling system was fine but my ignition, which powers the fan, was faulty. Replaced it for 15 bucks and the problem went away. If everything checks out with your cooling system be sure to check your ignition. Good luck

If you ground the wire coming off the Thermo-Switch and the fan turns on, then your Ignition switch is working fine. The power to the fan is supplied by the Ignition switch. If it was bad, then the fan would not have turned on when you grounded it. Must have been a coincidence.
