Well I was just going to change the oil. Then I started to change the spark plugs. Now I'm fixing wiring, and flushing all the fluids.
Also any one know what this black box thing is?

lots of threads about this issue. so now you will add a new r/r to the list of things to do.
better to find it in the garage, than 400 miles from home.

Thanks guys. So can I just pick one up at the auto parts store or bike store?

Also is there like a new guy thread? I have some other things to ask.

What spark plugs to get.
what air filter to get.
How to flush my brake fluid.

i would search the classifieds here, or you can check ebay. most bike dealers should be able to get the aftermarket ones quick quickly i would suspect.

it's notorious for going out, so no worries there

but
there are many kids who use yamaha R6 rectifiers,
which work really well.

side note:

might want to invest in an APE Cam Chain tensioner as well
down the road of course... there's a walkthrough of one in my sig.

the f3s have r/r problems and cct problems.

Hang on a tick yall. His r/r has obviously been replaced already. The damaged connector may be leftover from when the original went out. I've got the same burnt pin on mine but testing the r/r comes back good and I don't have a charging problem. So I'm pretty sure mine was replaced in the past.

If you haven't had any charging issues, you may not need a new one. Grab the service manual and a voltmeter. There's a diagnostic routine in it that'll let you check the charging system. If mine ever went out I have plans to go aftermarket new. Electrosport sells direct plugin aftermarket r/r for all our bikes. Along with replacement OEM connectors

WOW thanks. I'll be shopping a lot for the next month until I get the bike on the road.

Anything else you think I should do while I have the bike broken down?
