Default No throttle response

So i hauled my bike in my truck (97 CBR 600 F3) from denver CO. to Fresno CA. for thanksgiving. Bike ran amazing down there, i think its because the air is not as thin their or something like that. The problem is once i came back to colorado. It starts fine, but once your in 1st there is no response no matter how hard you mash the throttle. 1st gear feels like im starting off in 3rd gear. never had the problem before. I have no engine mods on the bike either. no smoke out of the exhaust either. I know alot of you guys have alot of experience and might have seen this before. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like it is running on 3 cylinders. I bet a spark plug is fouled out. Check your plugs and slap some new ones in there. Same thing has happened to me.

I'd bet on fouled plugs too. I've had it happen a lot. My last bike had flatslides on it. If you get impatient letting a cold bike with flatslides warm up, you'll go through a lot of fouled plugs. A sandblaster can become your best friend.

About the sand blaster deal.... I know people who do that and have no trouble but the thing is when you sand blast a plug is it will get a tiny bit of sand up inside the plug where compressed air might not get it out. Then you install it back in the bike and when it warms up, it will expand and that sand will finally fall out into the engine. Im not saying im right but that is just my opinion.

Just gotta be careful with it. Theres no reason to shoot sand down IN the plug. And a good careful eye can see any harmful grains still in the plug. I dont like paying $50 for a set of plugs.

yea the price for plugs are crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!! You think the prices for your bike are bad, my crf 250r cost $18 for 1 plug. The sand can get up inside of the plug where no human eye can see. I was told this by my old auto tech teacher. [sm=pcwhack.gif]

Took the advice and replaced my plugs today. Sounds a whole smoother now, but performance wise its better but not the same. 9 days ago i was pullin power wheelies like i was ridin an new 600 RR, But now it wont even come close to comin up. So im stil at my wits end of what sucked the power out. If something was wrong with the electrical part of the bike would that effect it?

Yea it could have something to do with it. Could have an electrical problem. Check on the color of the plugs after riding it for a while. That will tell you alot. See if they are all the same and how they look. What about just riding it... how does it feel? does it sound right and pull through the whole rpm range? If the bike is lacking power you will feel it, not just when you try to pull a wheelie.
