plugs and wires have about 500 miles on them. i pulled the two outer plugs turned it over its not getting any spark. ive check plug wire connections. what are the odds of both of those coils going out? i tested the coil's power wires with a test light and seem to be getting power. anyone know how i can test the coils and the cdi (im kinda thinking its one of those) and what/where is the pulse generator

Don't mean to sound stupid here, but you checked the off/run switch right? It'll cause the coils not to fire.

If the engine turns over, then the EngineStop (orange)switch is functioning. The Stop Switch only has one set of contacts and it provides power to the Fuel Cut Relay, the Starter Relay Switch as well as the ignition coils.

If you checked power to both coils, then they should fire if they're told to. The odds of both coils going out are extreemly slim. Be aware though that plugs 1 and 4 come from the same coil. I"d check the #2 plug just to make sure.

You can check to see if the coils are getting signals by putting your hands on the fuel pump while you try to start it. The pump gets the same On/Off signal that the coil that feeds plugs 2 and 3.

Wat if you replace the stator and r/r and coil, cdi, wires, and plugs, but not the puls coil?
An what if 2 and 3 are getting signal but not 1,4 will the bike still start or try to start/backfire?

The Ignition Pulse Generator (IPG)only has 2 wires and they both go to the Ignition Control Module (ICM). Signals generated by the IPG are interpreted by the ICM, and thatis what tells the 2 Ignition Coils to fire. It would be unlikely that a bad IPG would have the effect of only 1 coil firing and the other onenot. Are you saying that you replaced the ICM ?
