because this is your bike now, its recommended you change all the basic things yourself to insure the bike doesnt have anything "half assed" in it.

that includes spark plugs.
now i dont know aftermarket coils, bud id get your hands on some stock coils (30 bucks or so) from ebay.
also get some new plugs.

id recommend cheap cr9eh9
or what i use, iridiums, cr9ehix-9.

you have a starting issue.
this could be to a variety of things, including clogged pilot jets that need to be cleaned.

I had this problem once. It turned out to be a stuck float in one of the carbs was stuck open. I got in there and tapped on all the float bowls with a rubber mallet(took a few times though)but after that it was fixed.. All the symtoms sound the same except I had a little gas in the exhaust pipe and muffler. Try that maybe....??

How it was running when it was hot is pretty much normal though for any hot bike.

Id go with iridium plugs. Carbs might just have to be gone through by you or a professional. I say its something in the carbs. Ever who put the jet kit in might of screwed something up in the carbs?? If it fouls the new plugs, its something in the carbs for sure.

i would deff go with the iridium plugs too. and yes it sounds like u got a float stuck open. could be from debri or by human error when they rebuilt the carbs. maybe just try cleanin the bad boys out first before u rip the carbs down

do you need a new fuel pump? i've got an extra i'm willing to sell for the right price.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to clean the carbs anyways.
