New Rear End with Old Indicators
Well, this is the third time I am posting this mod. I made to my bike.
The background:
The previous owner of this sweet, immaculate F3 chopped the rear fender off and used one of those cheap fender eliminators with the small LED indicators. Swear to God, I could not even see them when blinking unless it was dark out. So, I wanted to re-install the original indicators but the flimsy aluminum bracket could not support them. With a piece of cardboard, I mocked up a more sturdy design and dropped off my prototype at a machine shop. Let's just say it didn't cost more than any other fender eliminator on the market.
The Outcome:
I couldn't be happier! Not only did it mount straight up, but the original indicators are super bright and I think they don't even look that bad. You be the judge.

Nice work... how do you illuminate your license tag? I think in most states it's a requirement. Have you considered those LED license plate holders. They're screws with LED's inside them that light up your plate.
This is what I'm thinking.

That is a GREAT idea! West Virginia is very lax on inspection, so they don't seem to even notice I didn't have a license light. . . . but I want more visibility and I just found something similar to what you suggested but even better! Custom Dynamics also makes a bolt that has rear-facing red LED and a downward facing white LED. So I get more brake visibility and license plate legality. Thanks!
Morgantown ! I know where that is. My wife has a sister in Clarksburg, WV. My wife and I did some riding there on our trip back from Niagara, ON. We stopped and ate at Jimmy Johns Sandwich shop on High Street. What a small world.
Thanks to advice from I Do Dirt, I have now added the license plate and rear brake LED bolts. I wish it would stop snowing so I could get out of the garage and on the streets. . .
I bought some amber LED strips and might add them to the side of the forks if I am still bored.
Here it is with just the running lights on:

Nice. I need to get some of them. My bike doesn't have a tag light. I only have my permit, so I'm not supposed to ride at night anyway, but it's something I'll need eventually. Am I allowed to ask (or are you allowed to tell me) where you got them from?
I found the Tag bolts at http://www.customdynamics.com/illumi...nce_plates.htm and they come in just white downward facing to light up your license plate, or with red or amber rear lights also.
