Default New problems man........

Wow, so here's an update. after replacing the batter, r/r, cleaning out the carbs the bike was running perfect. three weeks afterwards, im riding home, i come to a light and my tach keeps flippin up and down....two seconds later, it goes dead, when i turn the ignition on..........nothing...........just silence. So now i'm beginning to think my r/r is busted again, or my stator is crap and screwing with all the other two components. I hate electricity...

Aftermarket R/R from ebay for about 100 bucks. Funny thing is...just came back from work and she started right up. loose connection somewhere? Gauge lights and neutral lights were on when it went dead. They looked really dim, but they were on. Battery had a full chargeup last night before the incident, somehow I don't believe this was some minor random glitch. I was thinking that maybe the stator was bad and wasn't charging the battery. that would explain why the bike ran for as long as it did. checked the voltage on the battery and the r/r and both were fine. The only thing I haven't replaced yet is the stator. So my guess is that I'm gonna need a new stator....any other ideas? figures this **** happens right after I did an oil change.....dammit.

What would be a good brand and a good price? And how much of a difference does it make?

Haven't heard of any one particular brand. I do know that ebay has some cheap knockoffs that aren't recommended. The used ones are a problem too because most of them tend to be on their last legs. Performance wise i dont know if they'll make much of a difference, the difference seems to be how long they last for. Here's another question for you guys, if a stator is faulty would that cause the r/r to blow faster? After replacing two out of three of the electrical components, I'm beginning to wonder if my stator being faulty is causing my other components to blow.
