I just ordered new fairings out of Hong Kong for my F3 and afterSEVERAL frustrations (wrong color, tail fairings for wrong bike, NOT new like advertised but "refurbished", etc) I find that they don't meet properly around the headlight. I'm more or less beside myself because I was unable to get a refund through ebay because 45+ days after the sale their insurance is no longer valid (hint- it usually takes longer than that to paint and ship from Asia! Be warned!). Anyway, the tabs actually don't extend far enough to fit and secure although they look all right when pressure is applied to hold them in place. I had an idea- does anyone know if they make "bras" for front fairings the way they do tanks? I see a lot of the 3M paint protectant film but I'm afraid that it would be difficult to apply it properly and hold the fairings in place and/or would affect the new paint job in some way.

 

I have the 7star HK and is not going back to OEM once painted. If you worried about paint scratch, then worry on. The slightest bump with anything the paint is scratched. None of the fairing line up correctly, I have to screw make screw holes and holder to keep them together. There is nothing like the OEM, but it looks good from a far, but if I had to do it over again, I wouldn't buy them.

 

holy crap!!!! Is HK that Bad?!! I have been looking at them for the last couple of weeks. From What I have heard here, Dont Buy Them?

 

Which ebay seller was it? I can't figure out if they all get their stuff from the same factory and it's all junk, or if some sellers are better.

 

Everybody I heard that got them says the same thing, plus you HAVE to put heat tape on the back of them, 5 mins at idling the plactic gets very soft and warps.

Last week I just had to take the V piece behind the front tire and replace it with the OEM one. Warped so bad it started scraping the tire.

My OEM in now getting painted, (the painter is surprising me), but he do damn good work. An can't wait to take this HK stuff off.
