new clutch
i think it is time for a new clutch, today i was riding and when i would get on it in any gear, it would slip back into neutral, also when i am in 5th or 6th gear at about 6000 rpms and pull the throttle back, it sounds like it just revs up until i let off the throttle. what should i be expecting to pay for a new clutch and install, or is it possible to install a new clutch by myself? what brand of clutch do you recommend? thanks for the advise

RE: new clutch
Sorry, can't help you with the costing part, as for doing it yourself depends on your level of compentacy, myself, I'd get it done by the shop, because I'm a lazy old bastard & you have some recall if it stuffs up. BUT, are you sure its the clutch, some of the symptoms you describe could be down to a number of things, like bent selectors/R.S spring etc. So with that in mind have it looked at properly before you go a head & end up with a new clutch, but your bike still pops out of gear.
