Default Neutral position light question

Hey guys. 95 F3. 12,900 mi. So ever since i had her, when i would drop down into first, the neutral light would still be lit up. if i slowly let the clutch out to the point the bike would being to start moving, the light would go out. if i pulled the clutch back in, the light would come back on.

(then i would click up to go into neutral, and let the clutch out, and it would lurch forward, i'd click up again, and itd go to neutral. I fixed that with an fresh oil change.)

seeing that the fresh oil change fixed one problem for me, i hoped it would fix the light issue too, but it didnt. Im thinking maybe i need to adjust my clutch cable? im not sure on this one. any ideas?

Your clutch adjustment doesn't control the neutral switch and light. Letting the clutch out a little is just putting some torque on the transmission components enough to either actuate the neutral switch or not. Adjusting the clutch cable free play won't cure it. Probably some work on the training is in order.

i had a simular issue with my 98. turned out being a loose connection on the switch. i would recommend removing the switch from the tranny, and make sure it works properly by hand.
mine would actually flicker when i reved the bike.
