Shift collar could be worn or a bent shift fork? How is your clutch? Does it jump when you put it in gear? Very Grabby?

I am sure you will need a new clutch basket. The basket that the clutch plates sit in get grooves after a while. Then when you pull the clutch in the plates can not float like they need to so they still grab. This would explain your neutral problem. I have used a file and filed all the grooves flat before.... but buying a new one is really what should be done. Also your clutch plates could be warped and alse cause it to drag. If you replace the backet you should get new clutch plates and bose also.

Well this is my first bike and i no nothing about how to fix them. How much would you think a shop/dealership would charge? Who would you trust? I know a shop not far from my bike (fix's harleys mainily) and also a dealership across the way(younger guys working on dirt bikes and four wheeler)I live in the country kinda.. Thanks for the help transamlt1man.
