First the diagnosis, odds are it's not carburation. Carburation doesn't "come and go".
The regulator/rectifier (r/r), on Hondas, is a traditional achille's heel. The symptoms
you're describing match the profile. That's my first point of interest.
The r/r is under the right-side cover. It's a square, black box w/ 2 big ears it bolts down
through. The face of it should be smooth, flat and blemish-free epoxy fill.
The connector that goes to it has 5 wires (3 yellow, a green and a red w/white stripe).
Check the connector and r/r, for warped, melted plastic/burnt pins/melted insulation
(basically any sign of heat damage). If you see anything along those lines,
the r/r is probably at fault.
Check that out and post back here. Then, we'll take it from there.
Welcome to the forums and hope this helps, Ern

In additon to Ern & Demon....what color is your fuel filter? If it's the 95'.....fuel filter clog may also show this type of symptom....
Petcock reserve is north, on is south....
You said bike was laid down? Ran fine then this happen....gotta check any loose vaccum hoses, bent, that's may occur...
When bike shuts off throttling....something is short, not balance (air, gas, sparks)
