My rr tail swap pics.
Here are some pics and of the 03-04 600rr tail swap on my F3.
You will need
- Someone who knows how to weld/bend steel (not me)
- 1.5" by 8th inch steel
- 600rr Passenger seat latch hardware
- Nylon spacers
- Velcro
- Tail light
Took me about 5 hours.

The first thing i did was take a piece of steel that was shaped in a L with a lip on the top so that the mounting was moved back a bit less than a inch. the easiest way to do all this is have a friend hold the fairing where you want it and then take some measurements. I used the same mounting holes that the f3 seat screws into.

Note the nylon spacers between the bracket and the fairing. You must have these or else the seat wont sit flush

After this I heated and bent up the rear of the tail, I got lucky and was able to use this piece for the latch that the passenger seat hooks into.

The rider seat luckily has these mounting tabs underneath. I slid/wedged this tab under the fairing and it was surprisingly sturdy considering I bought the cheapest fairings I could find on ebay.
I also took some L brackets from the home depot and drilled into my frame to add extra support

The 600rr seat isnt as uncomfortable as I thought it would be, the longest ride i have been on so far is about a hour and a half and my butt didnt go numb or anything. It does feel like its at a quite an angle which makes me reconsider putting a f4i shock on the back...
I hope this was informative, if you have any questions let me know and I might be able to help.

good job, it always helps to have all the right tools/parts and someone who knows how to weld. I did mine pretty much with the steel you used. That stuff is great, i've used it all over my bike. Yours is very clean though... But what about the front fender?
The front tire is too big to put a fender on, I think it calls for a 120 and I had a 130.
Yeah there is a black triangle piece, each one usually goes for like 15 each but I just bought new tires today so thats kinda on hold. Im just happy to be on the road.
Nice work. I want to do mines but dont have anyone personally close to me who can weld. I have a muffler guy but hes at his shop not for house calls. I would like to try this is if there was no welding needed!!! lol I thought I heard someone do it by trying to bend the rear tail section...?
