There really was no way to fix the tail..besides keep puttin it back togeather after your engine vibrates it loose. I was happy with my fairings too...but couldnt refuse a set of stockers!
The tail looks much better than the earlier f3 tails! You got a 97-98 seat i think..right?

 

yeah, wheni got the bike, it already had the 97-98 conversion done.

I'll think of something for the tail. I'm too stubborn not to. When I figure something out I'll let ya know.
