Default Misses decided not to have the CBR600 as her first bike

Today, I had the misses on my bike, since it is license and insured to practice. After taking her for a ride as me as the passenger and I am controlling the clutch and throttle (I am 6'4" and she is 5'2" at 120 LBS) I am able to reach around her and control the clutch, throttle and front brakes, while I her control the shifting and rear brakes.

After showing her how, I let her go off by herself andalmost having the bike tip over, because of the weight of the bike. She decide not to go with it and going for a EX250 or 500.

Wewould feel much better if she opts for those two and have more enjoyment.

Once the new fairing comes in and with the new tires installed, she will be going up for sale in the classified on here first then on Craigslist in PA, NY and NJ.

Nothing wrong with starting out on wot you (or in this case the missus) feels comfortable with.
I started out on a tiny 2 stroke Suzuki **** box (40 years ago) & had a great time learning the basics & a bit more (like not reving the crap out of a bike & dumping the clutch).
I've seen many that have started their biking life on a machine that was to fast (or physically big), & either dropped it or scared the buggery out of themselves in the process, then walked away from riding because of it, a real shame.
If you haven't already done so, why not enrol her into a riding school, where she can pick up some skills & maybe get a better idea of which direction she wants to go bike wise.

The new Ninja250 is freaking sweet. It'd be a great beginner bike. Along with the EX500 which I think has a little bigger tires than the 250(Making it more stable) and a little more grunt.

Or find some used bikes. I got a 1994 Yamaha SecaII for my first bike. I paid $1500 for it and the bike ran great. Not super powerful but made for easy cruising through the city or the country.

Yeah I'm not certain I agree with your methods but there's nothing wrong with getting a 250. I'm seriously thinking about buying one for the track.

When I taught mah babuh how to ride, she spent a good 30 or so minutes in the seat with the bike idling - showing her different things.

First I got her comfortable with all the hand controls and what it feels like to rev the throttle. After some time, I got her used to getting in and out of gear. Then after some more time, I let her ease out the clutch in gear until she slowly began to move - then a while later I let her give it a little throttle.

All in baby steps and it paid off well. She ended up riding around the parkway for about an hour that day and was looking better and better on each pass.

While she's not dragging knees just yet, she does look good on the F3!
